Our first Zephyr – Rhodes 22

As I mentioned in the “About” page on this site, our first boat was a Rhodes 22. This turned out to be a great mini cruiser and we loved taking it out on Lake Manawa. I also took it on several day trips larger lakes including Lake Rathbun in the middle of Iowa as well as Milford Lake in Kansas (click here for that trip recap). I was inspired to write about our mini adventures when reading about where a fellow Rhodes 22 sailor had taken his boat. You can see more about Chris’ trips here and at https://sailingenosis.weebly.com/.

Here’s a review of the Rhodes 22 in Practical Sailor.

At the bottom of this page you can see a summary of our Rhodes 22, Zephyr, that I put together when selling the boat. I also included a bunch of photos below. We have a lot of fond memories sailing with friends.

Also, here are some favorite photos:

Water looks like a mirror in our anchorage at Rathbun Lake
Can’t beat the ambiance of the LED lanterns with a pretty sunset
